Register Menu
There are a few changes underway which will hopefully be live in the coming weeks but most importantly I have created a shortcut to all the live registers on the right hand side of this post, this will be a constant menu to make it easier to located the Register information.

Thankyou!
Just a quick note to thank everyone who has sent in information about their Allis Chalmers tractors in the coming few weeks I will have all of the currently live registers updated and more images included so you can click on the serial number of the tractor to see an image of the exact machine. I am busy ironing out a few bugs in the backend of this site to make updates easier when more tractors are listed.
A big thankyou to Oily Rag Magazine for including a listing of the register at no cost, it is greatly appreciated!
Also thanks to The Old Machinery Magazine (TOMM) for including a small article in the current edition.
If you haven't submitted your tractors or know of any tractors or parts on the market that can be listed on here please let us know by sending an email to aussieallischalmers@outlook.com.

Memorabilia
Dealership Memorabilia
Allis Chalmers made great use of it's bold Persian Orange colors on tractors and machinery, but what about dealerships? Honestly I don't know much about what is out there however I do happen to have a jacket worn by a staff member at an A/C dealership which is shown below. If you have Dealership or even Factory memorabilia we would love to know about it and share it with other collectors.

Wanted
Help Needed!
In getting this register off the ground I have luckily had a good archive of images and information but there are some things I am chasing to expand the models shown and register.
Rather than just googling images and adding them to the model profiles I have endeavoured to use either my own or readers images. To date I am needing images of the following models.
Tractors
Model CA
Model L 15-25
Model RC
Model UC
Any D Series (D19 etc)
190/190XT
Crawler/Dozers
All HD variants excluding HD6 & HD7
Equipment
All other equipment (excluding Roto-Baler)
Memorabilia
Any dealership or factory memorabilia
Most importantly if you own an Allis Chalmers product please let us know so it can be added onto the Register, a copy of the register form can be found here.
Please email any contributions to aussieallischalmers@outlook.comWednesday, August 24, 2016

Model G

The rear engined Allis Chalmers Model G was a versatile machine designed for market gardens and had a huge range of accessories available. The rear mounted Continental AN-62 engine was rated at 10-drawbar hp and 11-belt hp. It's open fronted design allowed perfect vision of the work ahead. A rare tractor here in Australia, with several having been imported as a collector tractor rather than sold new here.
Thankyou to Kaye & Stephen Richards for supplying the above images.
Tractor serial number is located next to the starter on engine. Engine number is located on starter side of engine, near starter.

Overview
Australian Allis
Chalmers Register
The idea
behind this registry is to document Allis Chalmers Tractors and Machinery sold
in Australia and help provide information on these units to aid restoration of
those remaining. The register will be updated as new information comes to hand
and hardcopies will be available for those collectors who aren’t able to access
the internet.
A lot of the
machines currently in our register come from extensive work complied a number
of years ago by Owen Triggell (deceased) with several more machines added in
the time this register has been active. The register has been spurred into
action after the work put in by Kaye and Stephen Richards efforts to organise
an Allis Chalmers gathering at the National Rally in Hamilton and subsequent
newsletter for Allis Chalmers enthusiasts.
Personally I
have a history of collecting Allis Chalmers Tractors which started with
purchasing a WF in 1995 after helping my grandfather with his Allis’ on
weekends. My grandfather was a fan of the brand, selling his team of ten
Clydesdale Horses to buy his first tractor, a Model A in 1937 which was also
the first rubber tyred tractor in the Mallee region of Victoria. Several other
Allis’ were bought over the years for farm work and in retirement it was
decided finding and restoring an old tractor could reignite the Allis flame.
Fast forward to today and I have 5 Allis Chalmers Tractors along with a
Roto-Baler which currently reside in the Lockington and District Living
Heritage Complex.
Personal
information provided to the register is confidential, if collectors would like
to contact other owners details will only be forwarded with consent of the
collector, there is an option on the form to allow your phone and email address
only to be forwarded to fellow collectors on the register, further information will
only be available with the direct consent of the owner. It is hoped that other
collectors will share their knowledge with the register both on the machines
themselves along with dealership histories and personal stories. Attached is a
copy of a register form to be filled out (if you have more tractors you can
copy the form or just forward those details on a separate page) which can be
either emailed to me direct or sent via traditional mail to the details below. We
would also love to see photos of your machine, which can be sent via email or
hardcopy (which I am happy to send back). The information shared on the
register will only include Model, Serial No, Engine No, Year, Condition and
State. If you are happy with that please circle yes, otherwise circle no and
this will not appear on the public register. For any queries on this please
don’t hesitate in contacting me directly to discuss this.http://aussieallischalmersregistry.blogspot.com.au/2016/08/registration-form.html

Roto Baler
Registry Insight- Roto Balers
The Allis Chalmers Roto-Baler came about when A/C bought the rights to a design dating back to the 1890's when the Luebben Family on Nebraska started work on a baling machine. Further development was undertaken by A/C and in 1946 production commenced. The Roto-Baler was produced at the La Porte Works and was the first mass produced round baler made with bales ranging from 14-22 inches in diameter. The machines are highly complex and relied on all springs, bearings, latches and chains to all be in perfect working order. Later versions had a constant feed system (known as the No.10 Roto-Baler) that didn't rely on stopping forward movement of the tractor when tying of the bale was taking place. Early Roto-Balers built from 1947-1959 were all finished in Persian Orange No1 while later variants were painted Persian Orange No.2 with a Cream Roof or Lid along with wheels. Later variants had further safety screens and guards as there were rumors of several lawsuits against Allis Chalmers from injuries. Below is an original sales Brochure for the Roto-Baler (For a larger view click on the images).
Roto Baler Serial number ranges are as follows, the serial numbers are located on the upper right hand rear side just below the top cover.
